What would light look like if we stopped it for a fraction of a second?

If we could freeze that motion — just long enough to study it — we’d discover an infinite landscape of folds and contours. There would be no beginning and no end. Only a continuous ripple.

Captured Light Series is my attempt to trap light in a still form.

Each lamp in this collection represents a different way light might behave as it tries to escape.
Four forms. Four moments. Four interpretations of frozen radiance.

Rook — The Guarded Light

I imagine light wouldn’t be too happy about being examined. Maybe this is what it would look like on guard. Almost spiky. It resembles medieval architecture — even a chess piece. A solid stance capturing motion that wants to ascend.

Second important point of this project is packaging and shipping. After numerous criticizing comments of how wasteful my packaging is (and zero suggestions how to solve it), I decided to ship my lamps in a product of its own, tin canisters. You could use it after unboxing for whatever you like: rice or tea, maybe some miscellaneous stuff, or make a plant pot out of it, sky is the limit.

• It’s shipped with a smart e14 6W light bulb, however it doesn’t support mesh function on its own, you would need a separate mesh device (some Bluetooth speakers support that). The app necessary to work is Mi Home or other smart home apps.
